Jiah Khan (born February 20, 1988) is an Indian film actress who appears in Bollywood movies.

Born in New York and raised in Chelsea, London, Khan is the daughter of Ali Rizvi Khan, a Muslim Indian American, and Rabiya Amin, a Hindi film actress in the 1980s from Agra who is most remembered in Tahir Hussain's Dulha Bikta Hai. Khan has been rumored to be the daughter of Tahir Hussain and therefore related to Aamir Khan, but she dismissed the story as untrue. Khan has two younger sisters. Though born Nafisa, she changed her name to Jiah after Angelina Jolie's movie GIA, citing that it was sexier.

Khan's childhood is characterized by an absent father figure and frequent encounters with poverty. By the time she was 3 months old, Khan's father left his family for another woman. Eventually, her mother moved the four of them to London, where Amin worked as a party hostess and remarried. The second marriage ended in 1995 and left Khan, her mother, and her sisters penniless, homeless, and with little to no support. Despite her rise to stardom, Khan continues to have an estranged relationship with her father. Her mother is now a writer for television in the UK and BBC.

Khan is trained in opera and plays the piano. She can dance salsa, lambada, samba and Kathak.

Khan completed her A levels in film studies and literature in London. She also studied at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, though quitted upon receiving a movie offer from Mumbai.

A sixteen years old Khan was to debut in Mukesh Bhatt's Tumsa Nahin Dekha (2004), but backed out when she felt the role was too mature for her and was replaced by Dia Mirza. Two years later in 2006, she debuted in the controversial Nishabd, where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The film was released on March 2, 2007 to mixed reviews, though Khan was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal.

She will appear in A.R. Murugadoss's Ghajini Hindi remake along with Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal and Sajid Khan's Housefull, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Ritesh Deshmukh.

With voting for the 2008 AfterEllen.com Hot 100 underway, I thought I should give you some suggestions in choosing your top 10 and expand your voting horizons. Well, I and PopCrunch, where they compiled an international beauty list with 30 gorgeous women from around the world.

Actually, my suggestions are probably unnecessary, since last year's AfterEllen.com Top 100 already had a lot of international beauty in it. Looking at the top 10, we can find two British women (Kate Winslet and Lena Headey), a Mexican (Salma Hayek), an American born in Panama (Jordana Brewster) and a Texas native with an Iranian father and a Spanish mother (Sarah Shahi). My point is: If this doesn't help you choose your top 10, you can just gawk — it's Friday!

PopCrunch's list has a lot of interesting choices, such as Laetitia Casta (France), Rebecca Romijn (USA), Bar Rafaeli (Israel) or Milla Jovovich (Ukraine), but I must say their taste in pictures is rather poor. Was this really the best Jovovich picture you could find?

I'll help you out:

I did enjoy the list, however. I was pleasantly surprised with a few gorgeous women I didn't know, such as Daniela Pestova (Czech Republic) and Federica Ridolfi (Italy), and I also applauded the inclusion of my countrywoman Cláudia Vieira (Portugal), who is quite hot. The No. 1 spot went to Brazilian model Adriana Lima, but I must say I was rooting for the woman who ended up in second place, Heidi Klum (Germany).

Now, if I were making that list, there would be some substitutions. So, guess what, here they are:

Gisele Bündchen (Brazil)

Move over Adriana Lima, because Gisele is the hottest Brazilian woman in town. This picture is my only argument.

Lena Olin (Sweden)

If you saw Lena as a bad, good, now I'm bad again, now I'm good again, now I'm definitively bad character in Alias, you know she is one sexy spy. And, even as a 53-year-old woman, she is way hotter than Sweden's girl on the list, Paulina Porizkova

Juliette Binoche (France)

I attach very little importance to my father. He’s an American Indian Muslim. He left my mother when I was three months old. I know his name – Ali Rizvi Khan – I even know where he lives in New York. He has never bothered to meet me, neither have I. That would have hurt if he had left at an age when I even knew how l-i-f-e is spelt. I don’t have any memory of what he looks like… but it does bother me that I still have his name on my passport. You never wanted to meet him in New York?The thought did cross my mind… when I was a bit bored… Is this Mr. Ali Rizvi a wealthy man?He’d better not be. I just want to entertain… I could even become the Kiss Girl… have you seen the promo in which I kiss Mr. Amitabh Bachchan on the cheek? That’s so cool… so sweet and innocent. Are you? I’ve had loads of crushes though, I was mad about a Chinese boy when I was a kid… last year there was a student in New York whom I dated, which never went beyond the teenybopper stuff. How was your first ever Maxim shoot? Did you enjoy it? 

It was quite interesting, but it was quite a lot of work too. It's a lot of hard work trying to look sexy, and contrary to the image that the media has about me, I'm quite conservative and acting sexy is not really me.

(Giggles) I am just being me, I guess I was just born sexy then. But it sure is hard work, pretending to be sexy.

Aha! So do tell us what's been your best on-screen moment so far? 

There are lots of them, and I can't really rate one above the other. But if you really insist, it was something which happened quite recently. While I was shooting with Aamir Khan, there was this one scene which was quite complicated. And I managed to wrap it all up in one take, and after the wrap, Aamir gave me this nod of appreciation, and coming from him that 'one' nod made my day.
